User Manual – Greywater Reuse Calculator EN 16941

Welcome to the calculator for greywater reuse

This manual explains how to correctly use the tool, its main buttons, and how to interpret the results.


1. General Operation

The calculator has two main modules:

a) Rainwater

  • Objective: to estimate the average precipitation over 5 years for a specific location.
  • Data to enter: latitude, longitude, and catchment surface area.
  • Button to use: “Rainfall Analysis” 🌧️
  • Results:
    • Collectable rainwater volume
    • Recommended storage volume
    • Coverage percentage in relation to demand

b) Greywater

  • Objective: to calculate the volume of greywater generated by a building based on its sanitary equipment (washbasins, showers, toilets, washing machines, etc.).
  • Data to enter: number of inhabitants, volume, and frequency of use for each fixture.

2. Analysis and Report

Central button 📊

After entering the data for both modules, click the central button to generate summary charts and tables.

The results will clearly show:

  • Total usable volume of rainwater and greywater
  • Possible surpluses
  • Potential daily savings

Report submission button ✉️

To receive a detailed report by email:

  1. Enter your email address.
  2. Accept the privacy policy.
  3. Click the submission button.

Optional field 📝: you may add specific questions or contextual information not covered by the EN 16941 standard.

⚠️ The report is generated by artificial intelligence and serves as a decision-support tool. It does not replace the expertise of an on-site technician.


3. Recommended order of button use

  1. Rainfall Analysis 🌧️ – Rainwater
  2. Central button 📊 – Combined results and charts
  3. Submission button ✉️ – Detailed report by email

4. About the report language

This version is in the Beta production phase. During this stage:

  • The AI prioritizes the visitor’s language for data input and output.
  • Internally, the AI reasons in English, its primary training language, which allows it to generate more detailed, precise, and technically nuanced texts.
  • When other languages are used via automatic translation, most of the detail is maintained, although the information density may slightly decrease compared to English, or if the technical terminology is not fully aligned.
  • The version is already multilingual and will continue improving consistency, translation quality, and technical richness in all languages.

5. Practical Tips

  • Enter data as accurately as possible to obtain reliable results.
  • The report makes it easier to interpret key volumes and charts.
  • We encourage you to test this version and send us your suggestions to improve the future release.
